As a New York State Assemblymember, Alex authored the RAISE Act. To pass that bill, he and his team put together a massive coalition of dozens of groups, very few of which had ever done advocacy around existential risk, and overcame millions in lobbying against it.

He ran for Congress in NY-12, in which he similarly brought together a diverse coalition touching the entire spectrum of Democratic party thought to advocate for regulation around AI.

Since the race, he has become the go-to reference for legislators throughout the country who want to work on AI issues. In office, Alex has served on NCSL’s Task Force on AI, Cybersecurity and Privacy and Future Caucus’s National AI Task Force, and co-chaired the NewDEAL Forum AI Task Force. He has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Machine Learning.

Anna Myers is co-founder and Executive Director of Who Decides. For more than a decade, she has built the coalitions and operations that turn ambitious ideas into durable organizations, companies, and campaigns.

Her work has spanned venture capital and politics, bringing together everyone from founders, executives, and investors to labor leaders, grassroots organizers, and elected officials, and keeping them working together to get hard things done. Most recently, as Alex Bores’ Chief of Staff in the New York Assembly, she helped build and hold together the diverse coalition that passed New York’s RAISE Act and directed operations for Bores’ congressional campaign.

At Who Decides, Anna leads coalition building and organizing across states, turning local concerns about AI into coordinated political action.
